Gaming Buzz – Apr 2024: Super Mario’s Buzz leap

Super Mario Bros. take the Gaming Buzz crown for April 2024, having witnessed a 8.7-point leap in Buzz scores among gamers in Britain. Over the last couple of months, the franchise has been in the news over the confirmation of the sequel to the first Super Mario Bros. movie, slated for launch in 2026.

Assassin’s Creed claims the second spot in the UK, jumping 8.4 points. There has been some chatter among the franchise’s fans about Assassin’s Creed Hexe which has been marked for launch in 2026. The addition of popular Assassin’s Creed character Ezio Auditore to For Honor, a melee-based action game, has also generated some headlines over the past few weeks.

World of Warcraft rounds off the list among Britain’s gamers, rising by 8.1 points.

Over in the US, PUBG gains the top spot with an 8.7-point hike in scores. The franchise laid out its vision for 2024 in a YouTube video in March stating that their focus is on instead on “enriching the land-loot-survive sequence”.

Call of Duty Warzone takes the second spot, most likely helped by the launch of the title on mobile platforms in March. Forza wraps up the list with a 3.9-point increase.
